Envirico are an ecological consultancy specialising in invasive species control and eradication.  Based in Co. Kilkenny, we are a young and dynamic company, eager to establish ourselves as Ireland’s market leaders in this field. Envirico can tackle both land and water based projects, with specialist remediation equipment, boats and professional divers at our disposal. Currently, we are expanding and are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Ecologist/Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to join our growing management team.

Your duties will include:

Arranging and carrying out invasive alien species surveys, and other ecological surveys as required; designing and writing up high-quality ecological reports including site-specific management plans for the control/eradication of invasive species from land, riparian and aquatic habitats, and from development sites, historical sites and amenity areas; GIS mapping; supervising excavations or works on sites contaminated with Japanese knotweed or other invasive species; supervising general operatives and other staff; providing expert advice on biosecurity protocols; writing tender applications; liaising with clients and stakeholders.

Depending on your interests and experience your duties may also include:

Providing LANTRA certified training in Biosecurity; website maintenance and blog writing, cultivating relationships with potential clients and promoting our unique offering through presentations, meetings, trade shows.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2 or more years’ experience working as an ecologist or ECoW.
  • Relevant degree (Level 9 or above is an advantage but not essential).
  • Be fully competent with GIS software packages such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Have experience carrying out the fieldwork for and producing high-quality reports, such as Habitat and Botanical Surveys, EcIS, AA.
  • Full Membership of CIEEM or IEMA or in the process of achieving same.
  • Full driving licence is essential, trailer towing licence an advantage.
  • A friendly, energetic and enthusiastic nature, with a genuine desire to find the best solutions for the client and the environment.
