Envirico are an Irish ecological consultancy with specialist experience in large-scale ecological projects such as invasive species eradication, off-shore bird surveying, invertebrate studies, as well as AA Screening, NIS, and EcIAR. With branches in both Kilkenny and Kerry, we are a young and dynamic company, who have quickly established ourselves as market leaders in the growing field of ecological consultancy. Envirico can tackle both land and water-based projects, with specialist equipment, boats and professional divers at our disposal. Currently, we are expanding and are seeking an experienced Ecologist/Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to join our growing team at the Kilkenny Office.

Duties will include:

  • Arranging and carrying out ecological surveys as required
  • Designing and writing up high-quality ecological reports including site-specific management plans for the control/eradication of invasive species, AA Screening Reports, NIS, EcIAR
  • GIS mapping
  • Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) duties during the excavation of Japanese knotweed or other invasive species, or to protect sensitive ecological features
  • Writing tender applications
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders
  • Duties may also include attendance at trade shows, reaching out to new clients, attendance at conferences and other opportunities as may arise from time to time

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 or more years’ experience working as an ecological consultant;
  • Ecological Clerk of Works experience;
  • Relevant degree (Level 9 or above is an advantage but not essential);
  • Be fully competent with GIS software packages such as ArcGIS or QGIS;
  • Have experience carrying out the fieldwork for and producing high-quality reports, such as Habitat and Botanical Surveys, Ecological Impact Assessment Reports, AA Screening, Natura Impact Statements;
  • Excellent fieldwork skills.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
