We are working with many organisations on emerging Green initiatives and Programmes supported by various Government agencies such as Enterprise Ireland.  We have a team of Specialists in areas such as energy management, energy audits, cost reduction and energy planning for new capital projects.

As our client base grows across the 32 counties, we now need to add another Senior Energy Consultant to this team.

The role:

As a consultant you will work with our team providing clients with high impact, well grounded, independent, and trusted advice, and solutions to address their specific problems and set them on the path to achieve their goals and objectives.

You will work on a project basis with different clients. The specifics of your work will be determined by the scope of each project, however, in general you will:

  • Work with business owners and operational teams to assess their current environmental management, analyse, interrogate, and synthesize information to generate insights and develop well-grounded recommendations.
  • In collaboration with the business, develop, agree, and implement appropriate action plans to achieve company goals.
  • Impart knowledge and expertise to the business managers to ensure they have the competence to sustain the benefit after the project is completed.

Typical Projects /Tasks

  • Completing carbon and resource efficiency audits/ assessments.
  • Assisting with the development of environmental sustainability policy, strategy and action planning in areas including carbon management, circularity, energy and water management and green/ sustainable procurement.
  • Supporting clients in the development, enhancement and maintenance of environmental management systems.
  • Assisting with the completion of carbon emissions baseline reviews across all three emissions scopes, calculating carbon footprints and developing strategy and action plans for carbon reduction.
  • Assisting with applications for grant aid and Green Programmes.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will be a passionate environmental sustainability practitioner and will have proven knowledge and experience in the following:

  • 5+ years in environmental management – working as a multi-disciplinary environmental professional either within an organisation or in consulting.
  • ISO 14001 environmental management systems – system design, enhancement and maintenance.
  • Completing baseline energy and environmental reviews.
  • Conducting energy and environmental (resource efficiency) audits/ assessments to assess compliance with legislation and other requirements and to identify opportunities to assess compliance, improve performance and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Carbon management planning.
  • Various government agencies and initiatives e.g. SEAI, Enterprise Ireland Green Start Programmes etc.
  • Advanced excel skills (database development and implementation).

Ideally you will be:

  • A member of a relevant professional body e.g. IEMA, Energy Institute /Low Carbon practitioner or Chartered Environmental/ Energy professional
  • Knowledgeable of the wider sustainability/ corporate social responsibility agenda and up to date with emerging thinking, technologies and practices such as, the circular economy, green procurement, ISO 50001 energy management systems implementation and maintenance

You will also demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Excellent report writing skills and strong data interrogation skills

This role will involve regular travel to client sites throughout the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK.  A clean driving licence is therefore required.
