About the role

As a Senior Field Scientist joining as part of a growing team and business in Ireland, you will spend most of your time in the field, undertaking a wide range of ecological and environmental survey and sampling work, interspersed with periods of desk work to analyse, interpret and report on the field data collected.

About you

You will be energetic and enthusiastic, happy to spend time on the road and in the field, in all of the weather conditions Ireland has to offer. You will be an accomplished, practically-minded field scientist with a can-do attitude, willing to travel widely in Ireland and undertake a range of survey work.

Required skills:

  • A minimum Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental or ecological subject (MSc preferable)
  • Clean, full driving licence
  • Willing and able to time away from home (travel to and from sites with overnight stays COVID permitting)
  • Ability to swim
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Field survey and sampling skills
  • Field identification skills for at least one of birds, mammals, plants (terrestrial or aquatic), invertebrates (terrestrial or aquatic) or fish
  • Flexible, adaptable and punctual
